This course prepares individuals to work aseptically with mammalian cells and have a basic understanding of the handling, prepping, and running of samples on a Flow cytometer. Students demonstrate that they are able to follow a protocol, work with both adherent and suspension cell cultures, and perform cell-based assays. Instruction includes Flow cytometry principles and hands-on experience with fixing, staining, and acquiring samples on a Flow cytometer. Upon completion students will be able to demonstrate their understanding of the controls needed for a Flow cytometry experiment and basic data analysis abilities.
